The Team
Training at Pegasus France, Gap Tallard is carried out on a Quantum 912 and a Thruster (Jabiru) T600 by the following instructors:
Marcus Dalgetty
 |
Marcus is the School´s Chief flying instructor. He started flying hang
gliders at the age of 18 and still does to this day. Since 1997 Marcus has
been working as a full time microlight instructor. He now has over 4,500
hours on both fixed and flexwing aircraft and has numerous qualifications
to his name; member of the BMAA panel of examiners, CAA examiner, microlight
inspector, flying instructor course instructor, BHPA senior coach, airframe
and Rotax service engineer. Marcus is always keen to take on new challenges
and this is why he expanded his company Pegasus Scotland and created Pegasus
France in 2000. He is currently taking his French exams in order to become a
French microlight instructor and is working on perfecting his French
aeronautical lingo. |
Simon Jeffrey
 |
Simon first got into aviation when he was 12 years old. After
a few lessons on a Cessna 150 he decided that flying would be an
important part of his future. At the age of 25 he dabbled with gliding
before taking the plunge into microlighting. After gaining his licence in
2000, he became a regular flyer at Insch, Nr Aberdeen and later at Perth
Airport. As a keen pilot Simon gained his JAR PPL and night rating,
but eventually decided to stick with microlights and to become an
instructor. Whilst working for Pegasus France he has become a
knowledgable instructor with over 2000 hours of training experience in
both flex and fixed wing aircraft. As a CAA flight and radio examiner,
Simon is keen as ever to fly and help people through the NPPL
syllabus. |
Brian Blackburn
 |
Brian has many years flying experience in both Europe and the USA.
He started his flying career at an early stage testing out various homemade
parachutes (bin liners really), from the Elizabethan walls in his home town
of Berwick upon Tweed. He progressed to hangliders and paragliders when he
realized the bin liners just didn´t work. After a few years paragliding
around Scotland and France Brian moved to flying microlights and has been
teaching students at Pegasus Scotland and Pegasus France for over 5 years.
He is qualified to teach both fixed and flex wing microlights and has taken
numerous students through the syllabus. Brian also has his JAR Group A
license with Night Rating and is also qualified as a glider tug pilot. |
Andy Jones
 |
A naturally gifted climber who has climbed all over the world, Andy
has always set himself difficult challenges. He has climbed all six of
the North Faces, including the elusive North Face of the Eiger. He has
worked in the Outdoor Education Sector for thirty years and in that time
has amassed a high number of qualifications including the highest which
is International Guide. Getting frustrated with the English weather and
in seeking the next challenge he was pushed into microlighting. After
initial training in Carlisle Andy went on to convert to flexwing microlights
with Marcus Dalgetty. Following FIC training with Marcus, Andy has now
been teaching with Pegasus for the last two years and has amassed a number
of flying hours both in France and in Scotland. |
John Strachan
 |
John started flying gliders at the age of 16. Over the years he spent
hundreds of hours trying to find those elusive thermals, cheating
occasionally with the use of a motor glider. About 5 years ago John
converted onto flexwing microlights with Pegasus Scotland and in 2009
he became an instructor for Pegasus. He has recently converted onto
fixed wing microlights enabling him to offer training on both types. |
